A Banksy style stencil mystery at Keswick School

Monday morning started with great excitement and discussion at Keswick School concerning a 5 foot Banksy styled stencil that had mysteriously appeared over the weekend. The stencil, outside the KS3 locker hall, depicts a Keswick School student walking toward the Maths and Physics corridor with a thought bubble containing an equation. On further investigation the equation represents Einstein’s general theory of relativity which provides a description of gravity. This follows the recent discovery of gravitational waves which increase our understanding and ability to look at the universe. The unknown artist has clearly depicted that education has no boundaries and is always open to new discoveries. It also rather poignantly reflects Keswick School’s motto – Levavi oculos.
