Daily Bulletin
- Public Exams: There are public exams on every day in the Sports Hall, please keep away from this area during lunch and break times as it disturbs students taking important GCSE and A Level exams.
- Writers and Illustrators: The deadline for all first drafts of chapters for ‘The Reader’ is Wednesday 5 June at the latest. The next meeting for the whole group is Thursday 6 June but all writers are welcome in the library before school (from 8.30am) and during morning registrations to work on their writing.
- School Leavers: Any student who will be leaving school this summer, please start to use up any remaining credit on your cashless catering account before you leave school.
- School Leavers: Can pupils in Year 11, 12 and 13 who are leaving school for exams please return any library books that they have out before half term.
- Classics Reading Challenge: There is still time for new readers to begin this challenge. The person who reads and submits the most reviews out of a selection of 10 classic fiction books will win their choice of e reader: Kindle Kobo or Nook. Start now – take a book over half term!
- Dance: Any students interested in dance, there will be a dance club Thursday 1.00 or Thursday 3.30-4.45 Drama studio See Mrs Westle for info.
- Carnegie Club: Come to the meeting at lunchtime today to find out which Spellbinding books have been voted as the top three and to start planning our picture board entry.
- Scrabble: The final of the scrabble tournament will take place on Friday 24th May in the library at lunchtime: Jack McCarthy and Joshua Pattison.
- Writers & Illustrators: Illustrator, Steve Hutton will be coming into school on Monday 15th July to work with the club on illustrations and cover designs for ‘The Reader’. It is therefore very important that the story is complete by this date so keep writing and redrafting! See Mrs. Robinson if you need any help.
- Years 9 and 10 German Exchange: There are just a few places left on the exchange next year. Please get your forms/deposits in to Mrs Pratt at the Languages Office by the end of the week.
- Cakes: 8AS cakes stall in aid of Cancer Research. Fri 24th May. Lunchtime outside Queens hall and in Atrium. Bring your 50p’s
- Drum Lessons: There are 2 spaces for drum lessons. Anyone who is interested, see Mrs Lee.
- Textile club: is on. Lunch time today 12.45 in L21 any one is KS3 is welcome to come along.
- Lost: Iphone 3G black, if found please hand in to reception.
- Ski racing: If you would like to race for the School ski team sign the list in the PE dept. We need teams of four boys/girls of the same age group.
- Comic Art Competition: To enter, you must produce an original piece of comic art between four and 20 panels in length. They must be submitted electronically as a jpeg to comicartcomp@kendal.ac.uk by 1st October 2013. Prizes will be awarded during The Lakes International Comic Art Festival which takes place from 18th – 20th October in Kendal. Prizes will be games consoles from GAME, books from Dark Horse Comics and sketching and watercolour kits from Derwent pencils. Prizes will be awarded in 13 age categories – one for each school year.
- Apprenticeship: There has just become available a business admin apprenticeship for a firm based in Portinscale, Keswick anyone interested please see Mrs Rainey asap.
