RPE

Overview

The RPE Department at Keswick School offers philosophically based schemes of work. It is a popular subject with large numbers opting to take RPE at GCSE, AS and A' Level.

The aims of the Department are to:

  • Make sense of the world we live in by considering ultimate questions
  • Teach tolerance and respect to all. It counters ignorance and prejudice
  • Teach the facts about religions to help us make informed decisions
  • Lets you express your own views and help you to respect and understand the views of others
  • Our work is relevant to all whatever your beliefs, whatever your ability, whatever your age
  • We are child-centred and diverse in content and approach
  • We celebrate diversity in culture and belief
  • We hope to develop a sense of awe about the world we live in
  • RPE is an essential part of the curriculum in a 'global' world
  • RPE helps to look at ourselves to find our place in the world
  • RPE recognises that we all have a spiritual side
