Keswick School achieves a perfect score with Ofsted

Keswick School was inspected under the new Ofsted framework between 4-5 February 2014. The school welcomed the inspection team and worked with inspectors to ensure that they had access to every aspect of school life. One inspector went straight into a KS3 assembly where the students were attempting to break three world records - that set the tone for the next couple of days!

Keswick School recognised as top comprehensive in Cumbria in national league tables

Students and staff are delighted that Keswick School has been recognised as the top comprehensive in Cumbria in the recently published national league tables. Over 74% of students achieved the nationally recognised measure of five or more A* - C grades including English and Maths last summer. This places Keswick above every other non-selective or fee paying school in Cumbria. It reflects the ambition of Keswick School students and the outstanding teaching provided by a highly skilled specialist staff.

Treasury trip for young entrepreneurs

Young business stars from a Cumbrian school have been to the Treasury to pick up an prize for their entrepreneurship.

Keswick School pupils scooped the Social Enterprise award at the Giving Nation Social Action Awards ceremony for their business idea of making t-shirts and bracelets to sell in local shops.

The last 12 months have seen some incredible achievements by pupils across Keswick School. We’ve been listed in the top 30 comprehensives in the country in the Telegraph, seen exam performance jump up against the national trend and witnessed the wider life of the school flourish with an array of student led clubs and activities too numerous to mention. This can only be made possible by the hard work and dedication of the staff (both teaching and associate) and the support of our parents, Governors and wider community.

Keswick School Catering Manager named National Catering Manager of the Year 2013


Operating almost invisibly support staff drive the engine room in all schools and academies and are often undervalued and regularly taken for granted.  The NASBM annual awards provide one of the only national opportunities to applaud the incredible job that these teams and individuals deliver, often with limited resources.

This year’s awards took place at the Victoria Park Plaza on Saturday 5th October 2013 and were overseen by Tricia Stewart, the originator and driving force behind the famous 'Alternative WI Calendar'.
