Keswick School Sixth Form take on the Biology Olympiad

Students from Keswick School Sixth Form took part in the British Biology Olympiad. The competition aims to challenge and stimulate students with a particular interest in biology and includes topics that are wider than the A-level syllabus allowing participants to demonstrate their knowledge of the subject.

The first round of the competition involved students completing two, 1 hour multiple choice papers; which were completed online within school. This week the school received notification of some spectacular results.  Matthew Blair, Matthew Harper, Emily Pratt and Dan White were awarded Gold. Jessie Justice was awarded Silver and Kathie Coverley, Hyatt O'Callaghan and Nadia Roberts received Bronze. Both Jaz Harker and Callum Roberts were highly commended.

The bronze, silver and gold winners have all been invited to an awards ceremony in London to receive their certificates.

Matthew Harper has also been selected to enter round two of the competition having scored the highest mark in school and one of the highest in the country.
