Keswick School make the final preparations for iPerform

Keswick School is a hive of activity as staff and pupils make the final preparations for their annual performing arts festival; iPerform, which takes place week commencing 29th June 2015. iPerform is now in its fourth year and some recent additions to the programme will see the event be bigger and better than ever.

As in previous years, iPerform sees a showcase event take place each evening, all of which are open to the whole community. These evenings consist of a number of well-loved events and include a Dance and Drama Night, Comedy Night and Band Night. The week will also host a Community Choir Night, which includes performances from Commited2Rock along with Keswick School and five local primary schools. This year Keswick School are delighted that the evening events will be sponsored by a number of local businesses, who include Caterite, Keswick Rotary Club, Roland Hill Ltd and George Fisher.

The school were delighted this year to be asked to be the headline act at Keswick’s Midsummer Festival on Saturday 27th June. The Midsummer Festival, which takes place in Keswick market square, will showcase a variety of events taking place during the iPerform festival. Being part of the Midsummer Festival will allow the local community to get involved with the range of activities that will take place at Keswick School during the week.

In addition to the evening events pupils from both Keswick School and local primary schools will have the opportunity to take part in a number of performing arts workshops. Workshops include STOMP, Singing with Anne-Marie Quinn and Street Art Workshops. These activities will allow pupils to gain a wider knowledge of performing arts.

The finale of the week will see the whole school, including both staff and pupils, take part in a Lipdub. A number of pupils, with the help of the school’s music department, have written a song which the Lipdub will be performed to. The song is based on the theme of innovation.
