Top Cumbria School breaks all GCSE records

Keswick School is delighted to confirm that our students this year have achieved the best exam results in the school's 600 year history.
At GCSE 84% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades (including 4+ in English and Maths). A grade 4 in English and Maths is equivalent to a grade C. This is a staggering 9% increase on the school's previous record set in 2015 and bucks the national trend.
Outstanding success was achieved by students across the board with the progress made in many subjects being in line with the top 10% nationally according to analysis against the national data set. Our Latin GCSE results indicate that the progress of students in this subject was better or equal to the best achieved nationally (in the top 1%).

The success achieved is a measure of their diligence, self-belief and the quality of our specialist staff. I am also proud that we offer something to everyone in the true spirit of comprehensive education. So to see students make excellent progress across the board is very special."
Simon Jackson (Head teacher)

"Keswick School has achieved a tremendous set of results again this year. All the students should be congratulated on their hard work, and we wish them well for the future. The staff must also be praised for their dedication and commitment to providing such a conducive learning environment, especially though such a period of change in the exam system."
