ICT is an advanced level course which combines well with many other subject areas; it is also a popular course as the skills acquired are essential for university and for working life.
Both the Certificate and Extended Certificate qualifications carry UCAS points. The inclusion of business uses of social media makes students of this course desirable employees for employers as they look to develop their internet presence to include social media campaigns to promote their brand and products/services online.
A typical student of the subject will be interested in the use of ICT, both from the perspective of the skills obtained and from a practical point of view. They will have an awareness of how businesses utilise ICT and will be prepared to look at all aspects of ICT and its use in real-world situations.
