Summer Term Newsletter
Over the last four weeks the school has been full of activity! We’ve enjoyed Year 7, 8 and 9 Sports days, an amazing Band night, Dance and Drama night, Comedy night, an art exhibition, Shakespeare day, Shakespeare off by heart competition, Lake walks, Latrigg walk, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, field trips, theatre trips, higher education events and university visits, EBL presentations, careers activities, research projects, Keswick School Mile and an i-Perform day. And that is only half of what goes on…!
Such opportunities build pupils' confidence and self-esteem. They also help create a unique and exciting learning atmosphere and bring our school community together. None of this is possible without the dedication and encouragement of an exceptional and highly professional team of teaching and associate staff. The sheer amount of planning and organisation needed to run such opportunities is hard to describe. When a student says 'thank you' it makes all the effort well worthwhile.
In education we like to be optimists. Let’s hope that we can continue to resume all the extra-curricular clubs, activities, events, competitions and trips that help students to develop holistically into pleasant, confident and highly articulate young people. Amongst excellent academic teaching these are the advantages we can give them as they progress through school. To do this successfully we also rely on parents reinforcing the same values and expectations at home. Together we can guide our students to a bright and rewarding future, whatever their chosen field of interest.
I hope you have a very happy and restful summer break.
